The Charlotte International Cabinet announced a new award for the 15th Annual Mayor’s International Community Awards (MICA). The awards gala will take place on Friday, May 18, 2012, at The Westin Charlotte beginning at 7pm.
This year, Mayor Anthony Foxx is inaugurating the Global Leader Award to recognize Dr. John Chen. As the first Global Leader Award winner, Dr. Chen embodies the spirit of Charlotte’s global significance and displays strong leadership in Charlotte’s international community. He cultivates awareness of the growing diversity of Charlotte through his involvement in Carolinas Asian American Chamber of Commerce, Crossroads Charlotte and Charlotte E.A.S.T..
